IPONE Enters India With Premium Motorcycle Lubricants Backed By Motul

Motul India has officially introduced IPONE to the Indian market, with an aim of bringing the French motorcycle lubricant brand’s performance-focused identity to a new generation of Indian riders. Positioned as a premium motorcycle oil brand inspired heavily by Japanese riding culture and manga aesthetics, IPONE is seemingly targeting enthusiasts who see motorcycling as a lifestyle rather than simple transportation.

The launch also marks Motul’s attempt to further strengthen its position in India’s rapidly growing premium two-wheeler segment, particularly among younger riders gravitating toward adventure touring, off-roading, and performance-oriented motorcycling.

Unlike traditional lubricant lineups, IPONE’s product structure takes inspiration from the progression system used in martial arts, with different “belt” tiers representing varying levels of riding intensity and performance requirements.

At the top sits the Black Belt – Racing Range, headlined by the flagship “Shogun” oil, which IPONE says is engineered for high-performance riding and competitive use. The company also highlighted the product’s association with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Below that is the Blue Belt – Sport Range, featuring fully synthetic oils designed for road and occasional spirited riding. The Green Belt – Advanced Range focuses on semi-synthetic formulations aimed at versatile everyday usage, while the Yellow Belt – Standard Range serves as the brand’s more accessible entry point.

Speaking at the launch, Nagendra Pai, CEO of Motul India & South Asia, stated that the company is witnessing increasing demand from younger riders looking for performance-led experiences and premium products that offer meaningful differentiation rather than superficial branding. He also noted that Motul’s existing offline and online distribution network would help accelerate IPONE’s reach across India.

Motul says IPONE products will initially be rolled out across six core and fourteen key markets in India, supported heavily through digital-led campaigns targeting enthusiast communities.
