2027 Honda Africa Twin 1150 Revealed at EICMA; Gets Three Variants

Honda has unveiled the 2027 Africa Twin 1150 range at EICMA 2026, bringing the most extensive update to the adventure motorcycle family since the introduction of the CRF1000L. The new lineup comprises three variants: the standard Africa Twin, Africa Twin Adventure Sports and the all-new Africa Twin Enduro Sports.

Powering all three motorcycles is a new 1,131cc parallel-twin engine which produces 119hp and 119Nm of torque. The engine is shared across the three variants, along with the frame and electronics, while the differences lie in their front wheels, suspension setups, kerb weights and fuel tank capacities.

The new Africa Twin range also gets a lighter frame and swingarm, with their combined weight reduced by 1.4kg. The fuel tank has been redesigned to extend partially beneath the seat, helping lower the motorcycle's centre of gravity. Other updates include Showa EERA suspension with Skyhook Control, six customisable riding modes instead of the previous four, and two instrument displays measuring 5.7-inch and 7-inch, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Honda has also redesigned the handlebars and footpegs to offer a more active riding position.

Here's what each variant brings to the lineup.

2027 Honda Africa Twin 1150: Standard Variant

The standard Africa Twin is positioned as the most balanced motorcycle in the new lineup. It gets a 21-inch front wheel, an 18.8-litre fuel tank and weighs 237kg.

It shares the new 1,131cc parallel-twin engine, frame and electronics with the other two variants. The standard version is aimed at riders looking for a combination of road and off-road capability, without being specifically focused on long-distance touring or more specialised off-road riding.

2027 Honda Africa Twin 1150 Adventure Sports

The Africa Twin Adventure Sports is the touring-focused version of the lineup. It gets a smaller 19-inch front wheel and a larger 24.2-litre fuel tank, which offers a claimed range of approximately 480km. It weighs 245kg.

This variant also gets E-Combined ABS. In the Italian market, the standard Adventure Sports is offered exclusively with a manual gearbox.

Honda will also offer a Honda Sensing Ride version of the Adventure Sports, which adds a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and two radar sensors. These enable features such as adaptive cruise control, collision warnings and blind-spot detection. With this additional equipment, the motorcycle weighs 256kg.

2027 Honda Africa Twin 1150 Enduro Sports

The biggest addition to the new Africa Twin family is the Enduro Sports, which is also the most off-road-focused variant in the lineup.

It weighs 228kg and gets mechanical suspension with 240mm and 230mm of travel, along with 260mm of ground clearance. Unlike the other versions, it does not get an electrically adjustable windscreen. It also comes with a manual gearbox and an HRC Tricolour livery.

With its lower weight and dedicated suspension setup, the Enduro Sports is intended for riders who prioritise off-road riding and want a more specialised version of the Africa Twin.

2027 Honda Africa Twin 1150: India Launch

Honda has showcased the new Africa Twin 1150 range at EICMA 2026. However, its India launch plans remain unconfirmed. The company has not announced whether the new range will make it to India or which of the three variants could be introduced in the country.
