Bike Sales Analysis: October 2025

October turned out to be a blockbuster month for the two-wheeler industry. Honda took the lead, boasting slightly higher numbers ahead of Hero Motocorp and TVS. But Hero Motocorp saw about 10 lakh new registrations on the Vahaan app. Overall two-wheeler registrations crossed the 2.8-million mark, a sharp rise from around 2.6 million units in September. Almost every major brand recorded double-digit growth month-on-month, driven by festive demand, fresh stocks and seasonal offers.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India — 6.50 lakh units

Honda bagged 6.50 lakh units, up from 5.68 lakh units in September. The Activa family led the charge as usual, backed by steady sales from the Shine and Unicorn motorcycles. Honda’s broad scooter appeal ensured it retained a strong first position overall.

Hero MotoCorp — 9.95 lakh units (retail) / 6.36 lakh (dispatches)

Hero retained its lead with nearly 10 lakh retail registrations. Dispatches to dealers stood at 6.36 lakh units, up from reflecting a balanced approach to inventory during the high-demand festive period. The commuter range continued to dominate, while the Vida electric models steadily built traction.

TVS Motor Company — 5.25 lakh units

TVS recorded its highest-ever monthly sales, rising from 4.13 lakh units in September to 5.25 lakh units in October. The Apache range and Jupiter scooters saw festive boosts, while the iQube EV achieved its best monthly numbers yet. Exports also grew, helping TVS close the gap with Honda.

Bajaj Auto — 4.42 lakh units

Bajaj’s combined two-wheeler and commercial vehicle sales climbed to 4.42 lakh units. The Pulsar portfolio remained its biggest volume driver, while the Chetak EV saw its strongest demand so far this year. Exports also contributed significantly to the month’s total, keeping Bajaj among the industry’s top performers.

Suzuki Motorcycle India — 1.29 lakh units

Suzuki achieved a new personal best with 1.29 lakh units. Strong sales of the Access 125 and Burgman Street helped Suzuki capitalise on festive footfalls, particularly in urban and suburban markets.

Royal Enfield — 1.25 lakh units

Royal Enfield reported 1.25 lakh units, and a significant month-on-month surge. The Classic 350 and Hunter 350 were key contributors, while the Shotgun 650 and Bullet 350 kept interest high across dealerships.

Others

Yamaha, KTM, Ather and other smaller players also benefited from the festive uptick. Yamaha’s scooters and the R15 line maintained steady growth, while EV brands like Ather, Ola and Bajaj Chetak continued to build presence in key markets.

Overall industry takeaway

The October surge underlined the return of strong consumer confidence in the two-wheeler segment. Retail demand comfortably outpaced wholesales, indicating leaner inventories and quick movement at dealerships. Electric two-wheelers also posted their best month yet, with robust growth from mainstream manufacturers. With festive momentum spilling into November and year-end offers rolling out, the industry looks set to maintain full throttle through the final stretch of 2025.
