MV Agusta Brutale 1000 ABT unveiled

Made in collaboration between two icons of European high-performance engineering: MV Agusta and ABT Sportsline, the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 ABT is limited to just 130 units worldwide. This bike is built to commemorate the 130th anniversary of German sports car tuner ABT Sportsline. 

About ABT Sportsline

ABT Sportsline is an auto racing and German tuner specialist mainly tuning Audi and Volkswagen cars. Started in 1991 at Kempten im Allgau, Germany, they are now celebrating their 130th anniversary. They have a remarkable history in motorsports, including the Super Touring Car Cup, Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, and Formula E in 2021. They have also competed in Formula E with the powertrains of Mahindra & Mahindra till 2023-24 season.   

Engine and Gearbox

This is the same 998cc inline four-cylinder engine from the Brutale 1000 that is now producing 198bhp and 116Nm of torque as standard and 205bhp with race kit and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The racing kit includes an Arrow Titanium four-exit slip-on exhaust with dedicated ECU mapping. It does 0 to 100kmph in just 3.15 seconds and reaches the top speed of over 300kmph

Suspension and Braking

It gets Ohlins electronically controlled suspension on both ends. For braking, it gets twin Batfly 320mm front discs combined with Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers, and at the rear it gets 220mm single disc with Brembo twin-piston calipers. It also gets a Continental ABS system with RLM(Rear Wheel Lift-up Mitigation)

Tech and Ride

The Brutale 1000 ABT gets a 5.5-inch colour TFT display that lets you navigate through the suspension setup and rider aids setup, launch control, Bluetooth, GPS navigation, along with advanced connectivity such as an anti-theft geolocation system and emergency messaging.

ABT Addons

On top of its already aggressive design, this Brutale gets many bespoke touches. Along with performance mods, it gets swingarm pivot adjustment plates and dedicated small parts. It has 19 components that feature carbonfibre like inner air ducts, fuel tank side panels, front spoiler, heat shields and pillion seat cover. As well with these things, it comes with a dedicated ABT bike cover, a welcome kit and a Certificate of Authenticity. Finally, when it comes to the colour scheme, it gets subtle red accent stripes that visually connect with the Rosso Fuoco and Nero Carbonio Metallizzato livery.

Prices and Rivals

If it comes to Indian stores, the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 ABT would cost around ₹46 lakh. Its main rivals are the Ducati Streetfighter V4 / SP2, KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo, Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory, and BMW 1000 R.
