Key Details
The tech comes straight from the 911 GTS T-Hybrid, but turned up to eleven. The smaller, faster-spinning turbos run to 145,000rpm, delivering torque across a wider rev range. Hybridisation isn’t for silent EV cruising—Porsche insists it’s purely to sharpen throttle response and obliterate turbo lag.
The system adds 85kg to kerbweight, countered by standard-fit carbon ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust, and even optional carbon fibre wiper arms that save 600 grams. Yes, really.
Visually, there are sharper intakes up front, revised headlights that take care of all functions, and a chunkier-looking rear with cosmetic vents. Inside, ‘Turbonite’ trim (think gunmetal with a purple tint) is unique to this model. You also get 18-way adjustable seats and, bizarrely, no back seats as standard—though you can spec them back for free, if you want to keep up the family-car illusion.
With Bugatti-rivalling acceleration, Nürburgring pace slashed by 14 seconds, and just enough practicality to argue with your accountant, the new 911 Turbo S is both familiar and outrageous. Now all eyes are on the upcoming non-S Turbo and the inevitable GT2. If this is Porsche being sensible, the wild stuff should be properly terrifying.
