Audi’s New Sports Car Concept Leaked Before Official Reveal

Audi’s big surprise for the Munich Motor Show didn’t stay a surprise for long. Thanks to an accidental social media post in Canada and some quick work by online forums, we’ve got our first proper look at the brand’s new sports car concept before the official unveiling.

Highlights

  • A concept is teased as a spiritual successor to the Audi TT.

  • Minimalist design, drawing cues from Audi’s past icons.

  • We are expected to preview a future electric sports car.

  • It could share its platform with the upcoming Porsche 718 EV.

Key Details

While Audi hasn’t revealed a name or powertrain yet, all signs point towards this being an EV. The proportions and curved roofline nod to the original TT, while six-spoke wheels and a compact grille hint at motorsport heritage.

The silver finish recalls the 1991 Avus Quattro concept, while the squared-off nose and tail reference Auto Union racers from the 1930s. Online chatter has already likened it to Jaguar’s recent Type 00 concept, though Audi’s effort looks more reserved and futuristic.

The concept is more than just a design study. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner has previously suggested that the company doesn’t build concepts without production intent. That means a road-going version could appear in the next few years, possibly filling the gap left by the TT and R8. Expect Porsche underpinnings and a performance-focused electric powertrain.

Verdict

If this leaks into production and it looks like it might, Audi will finally have an electric sports car to replace two icons at once. For now, it’s just a sleek silver shape with a lot of history written into its lines, but we’ll have the official details soon enough.
