Power and Pace
Under the sculpted bonnet lies an evolved twin-turbo V8 engine, part of the acclaimed F154 family. This unit delivers 631 bhp at 7,500 rpm, with power boosted by new turbocharging calibrations and an increased maximum turbo speed of 171,000 rpm. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission handles gear changes. Performance figures are brisk: 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 9.0 seconds. The car boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 2.29 kg/bhp.
Design and Aero
The Amalfi's design, overseen by Flavio Manzoni's team, takes cues from the Roma's elegant proportions but pushes for a more sculpted and modern form. The exterior features a sleek, monolithic speedform with clean surfaces. The front is characterised by a floating body-coloured wing above a dark recessed band, which integrates sensors and headlights. At the rear, an active mobile wing is seamlessly integrated into the tail, offering three configurations: Low Drag, Medium Downforce, and High Downforce. This active spoiler can generate an additional 110 kg of downforce at 250 kmph. The launch colour, Verde Costiera, is a brilliant teal green.
Cabin and Tech
Inside, the Amalfi adopts a dual-cockpit layout. The new steering wheel features physical buttons, and the iconic aluminium start button makes a return. The HMI system is built around three displays: a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with wireless smartphone charging. An optional Burmester premium audio system is available. The 2+ configuration allows for increased practicality with rear seats. An optional front lifter system can raise the car by up to 40 mm at speeds up to 35 kmph.
Driving Dynamics and Safety
The Amalfi incorporates advanced vehicle dynamics technologies, including a brake-by-wire system and the ABS Evo controller. The grip estimation system, based on Electric Power Steering (EPS), is noted as 10% faster and more accurate. The car is equipped with a comprehensive suite of next-generation ADAS systems.
