Honda Amaze scores 5 star safety rating in BNCAP crash tests

Safety concerns among Indian car buyers are no longer an afterthought. Indian car buyers now also prioritise safety and safety features. They are not just brochure fillers anymore, and Indian car buyers are now keeping safety ratings on top priority. The third-generation Honda Amaze was launched back in December 2024, but it wasn’t crash tested by the BNCAP. Now though, the crash test ratings are out and this compact sedan has performed really well. It has scored 5 stars overall in the BNCAP crash tests, with 28.33/32 points in the adult occupant protection test and 40.81/49 points in child occupant protection test.

The Amaze is a direct rival to the Maruti Suzuki Dzire which has also scored 5 stars in BNCAP safety test, however the Dzire has scored 5 stars in both the adult and child protection test but the points difference between the two is very minimal. The Amaze has bagged 40.81 points and the Dzire scored 41.57 points in the child protection test.

The Honda Amaze is packed with safety features like ABS, EBD, ESC, front seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters, traction control, 6 airbags as standard across all trims, Level 2 ADAS, hill-hold control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a lane watch camera, brake assist, seatbelt indicator and reminder for all 5 seats. It is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC engine which produces 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Transmission options available are either a five-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed CVT.

The Amaze is priced from ₹7.41 lakh (ex-showroom) up to ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant. It rivals the likes of the Hyundai Aura and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
