Kia has updated the Carens Clavis EV for 2026, introducing a 6-seat layout, new variants and additional features. Prices now range up to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The update focuses on flexibility and variant expansion rather than mechanical changes.
6-seat layout introduced
The biggest change is the addition of a 6-seat configuration with second-row captain seats. This layout is now available across most variants, bringing the electric model in line with its ICE counterpart. There is no price difference between the 6-seat and 7-seat versions, which keeps the choice purely down to seating preference.
New GT-Line and X-Line variants
Kia has also introduced GT-Line and X-Line trims for the 51.4kWh variants. These bring cosmetic changes rather than performance upgrades. The GT-Line gets new alloy wheels, lime green brake calipers and metal pedals. The X-Line offers a Dark Gun Metal exterior finish along with blacked-out styling elements. Both packages cost Rs 50,000 more than the variants they are based on.
Feature additions
The GTX+ and X-Line variants now get a digital key and a battery heating function. Standard range versions with the 42 kWh battery also receive new 16-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels.
Battery and range unchanged
The Carens Clavis EV continues with two battery options. The 42 kWh version produces 134bhp and 255Nm, with a claimed range of 404km. The larger 51.4kWh battery produces 170bhp and 255Nm, with a claimed range of 490km. Charging times remain unchanged. A full charge using an 11kW AC charger takes around 4 to 4.5 hours, while a 100kW DC charger can take the battery from 0 to 80 per cent in 39 minutes.
Updated price range
Prices for the Carens Clavis EV now start at Rs 17.99 lakh and go up to Rs 24.99 lakh, depending on battery size and variant.
The takeaway
This update does not change how the Carens Clavis EV drives, but it does make it more versatile. The addition of a 6-seat layout and new variants broadens its appeal, especially for buyers looking at a more flexible electric MPV.
