Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition marks Nexa’s 10th birthday

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled a limited-run Phantom Blaq Edition of its flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara, to celebrate a decade of Nexa dealerships in India. Available only in the Alpha+ Strong Hybrid trim, it blends subtle cosmetic tweaks with a familiar feature-rich package.

The exterior changes

The Grand Vitara now wears a matte black wrap that gives it a stealthy presence, complemented by 17-inch alloy wheels in a darkened machine finish. The silhouette and proportions remain untouched, no extra wings or vents, just a darker suit for the occasion.

The cabin upgrades

Inside, the SUV swaps its standard interior for perforated all-black faux leather upholstery, with champagne gold accents subtly scattered across the dashboard and door panels. Audio duties are now handled by a Clarion premium sound system, promising better clarity and depth for your playlists.

What you get in the Alpha+ Strong Hybrid

Being based on the Alpha+ Strong Hybrid means this edition comes packed with kit. You get an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, and a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV also features a 360-degree camera, head-up display, wireless charging, and Suzuki Connect’s suite of connected car features.

Under the skin

The Strong Hybrid variant is powered by a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 91 bhp and 122 Nm on its own. Combined with the hybrid system, total output climbs to 113 bhp and 141 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbox, with efficiency being the main selling point rather than outright speed.

Price expectations

Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed the price yet, but considering the Alpha+ Strong Hybrid currently retails at ₹19.92 lakh (ex-showroom), the Phantom Blaq Edition is expected to command a modest premium.

A decade of Nexa

Launched in 2015 with the S-Cross, Nexa has since expanded its lineup to include models such as the Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, XL6, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Fronx, and Invicto. Over the years, the premium retail channel has introduced tech like Nexa AR, allowing buyers to visualise their future cars in detail. This special edition Grand Vitara is a nod to that journey — subtle, premium, and aimed squarely at those who like their upgrades measured rather than flamboyant.
