Key Details
The Anniversary Edition is based on the mid-spec Techno trim and comes in two dual-tone finishes: Fiery Red with Black Roof or Shadow Grey with Black Roof. Yellow accents appear on the grille, doors, and C-pillar, while new decals and gloss black flexi wheels complete the look.
Inside, the cabin gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel with yellow stitching, yellow trim around the infotainment screen, and Anniversary logos embroidered on the headrests. Puddle lamps and illuminated scuff plates add a touch of flair.
Renault has also updated the variant nomenclature to match the Triber and Kiger. The Kwid now comes in four trims: Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Climber. The top-spec Climber variant gains six airbags, up from two, while all versions now feature 3-point seatbelts for every passenger.
Mechanically, the Kwid stays the same with its 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 68bhp and 91Nm. A 5-speed manual and an AMT are available. The Kwid continues to battle the Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso in the budget hatchback space.
Summary
Ten years on, the Kwid still plays to its strengths: quirky styling, accessible pricing, and a steady trickle of updates to keep it relevant. The Anniversary Edition is mostly a cosmetic exercise, but the wider safety upgrades across the range are a welcome step forward. For first-time buyers, that might matter more than a yellow-stitched steering wheel.
