Singer, the name synonymous with exquisitely personalised restorations of classic air-cooled Porsche 911s, has joined hands with Red Bull advanced technologies with an aim to increase the structural rigidity of 964-generation Porsche 911, a platform which has been thrilling drivers for more than three decades. The aim is to blend Singer’s craftsmanship with Red Bull advance technology's expertise in lightweight structures and elevate the iconic Porsche 911 to modern standards of stiffness, precision and performance without compromising on the soul which made the 911 iconic.
Singer’s work begins when a customer sends in their 964-generation Porsche 911 Cabriolet or Targa to carry out a personalized restoration under Singer’s classic Turbo services. The restoration begins with a complete strip-down of the car to its bare chassis, which is then meticulously assessed, cleaned, and prepared before being sent to Red Bull Advanced Technologies. There, engineers analyse the open-roof structure to identify the areas contributing most to torsional resistance, using this insight to develop 13 precisely engineered carbon-fibre reinforcement structures. These additions strengthen the chassis at its most critical points without compromising the integrity or character of the original Type 964 platform. Red Bull Advanced Technologies claims the result is a remarkable 175 per cent increase in overall torsional rigidity — delivering sharper handling, improved braking performance, and an open-roof 911 driving experience that rivals the composure and precision of a coupé.
