Tata Nexon EV gets ADAS, starts at ₹17.29 lakh

Tata Motors has added more tech to its bestselling EV. The Nexon EV now comes with a Level 2 ADAS suite, priced from ₹17.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Empowered+ A trim sits at the top of the range, offering extra safety features and a choice of Dark and Red Dark editions.

Highlights

  • New Empowered+, A variant launched with ADAS

  • Priced at ₹17.29 lakh, about ₹30,000 over the previous top-spec trim

  • Dark and Red Dark editions are available at a further ₹20,000 premium

  • ADAS limited to the 45kWh battery pack with 489km ARAI range (around 350km real-world)

  • Features include panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 12.3-inch infotainment, and JBL 9-speaker system

Key Details

The ADAS package brings lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, auto emergency braking, auto high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic warning, and a driver drowsiness detector. Essentially, the Nexon EV will now nudge you if you’re distracted, sleepy, or getting too close to the car in front.

The Empowered+ A shares its equipment list with the regular Empowered+ variant, meaning buyers still get creature comforts like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and premium audio.

Tata has reserved ADAS for the larger 45kWh battery pack, which claims an ARAI-certified 489km range and delivers about 350km in real-world driving. Buyers of the 30kWh version will have to do without these extra safety features.

The Dark and Red Dark editions add cosmetic flair and are priced at ₹17.49 lakh, carrying a ₹20,000 premium over the standard Empowered+ A trim.

Summary

With the addition of ADAS, Tata has pushed the Nexon EV further upmarket while still keeping it within striking distance of rivals. It may not drive itself just yet, but it will certainly keep a closer eye on you while you drive.
