Tata Sierra launched at an introductory price of ₹11.49 lakh

Arguably the most anticipated launch of the year, Tata Motors has revealed prices for the all-new Sierra. It has been launched at an introductory price of ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in seven variants. Bookings for this mid-size premium SUV begin on December 16, 2025 and deliveries begin on January 15, 2026. All set to rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq, here’s everything you need to know about the all new Tata Sierra.

Engine and gearbox options

Tata is offering the Sierra with three engine options – two 1.5-litre petrol mills, and one diesel engine. There’s a 1.5-litre Revotron naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol mill which will kick off the range. It makes 104bhp and 145Nm, and will be available with either a manual or a dual-clutch automatic transmission, across six variants. Up next is the 1.5-litre TGDi Hyperion turbo-petrol, four-cylinder, which is the most powerful of the lot. This engine churns out 158bhp and 255Nm and it can be had with a sole torque converter automatic. For all you oil burner fans, the Sierra also gets the option of a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine which produces 116bhp. It makes 260Nm of torque when paired with the manual and a slightly higher 280Nm when paired with the torque converter. The Sierra is based on Tata’s new Argos platform, which, the brand says, is all-wheel-drive ready and they’ve also hinted at an electric variant of this SUV.
The Sierra has a 205mm ground clearance, a 26.5-degree approach, 23.1-degree ramp over, and 31.6-degree departure angles, and it rides on frequency dependent dampers (FDD) at both ends.

Exterior, interior and features

Tata Motors has dialled it up to 11 on the features front in the new Sierra. Firstly, the styling. It looks almost the same as the concept car which was revealed earlier this year. It gets boxy and sharp, and futuristic styling but also has some design elements that pay homage to the first-gen Sierra. At the front, it boasts a full-width LED light bar, slim LED headlights, a faux silver skid plate, an upright bonnet and Sierra badging. In profile, the SUV rides on 19-inch alloys, gets integrated door handles, and a black element on the rear door which mimics the iconic rear glass house area of the first gen Sierra. It has an almost vertical rear end, a power tail gate with gesture control, a smart spoiler and the same silver skid plate treatment as the front.
Step inside, and the first element that will grab your eyes is the digital real estate – it has a 12.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.25-inch passenger screen, all integrated into a single piece, which looks really cool. It has a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat with memory function, 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone climate control, rear sun shades, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof and a big 622-litre boot.

For the back seat, it gets rear sunshades, dedicated air-con vents, two Type-C USB ports, best-in-class legroom, and a manual Boss mode for the left passenger which allows them to move the front left seat from the back, in order to increase leg room. The rear seats also get a two-step recline, and a 60:40 split. When folded down, they increase the boot space from 622-litres to a massive 1257-litres.
On the safety front, the Sierra boasts 6 airbags as standard, Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control amongst other features, ABS, TC, all-wheel disc brakes, ISOFIX seat anchors and even an electronic parking brake. And it is also expected to score a full 5-star safety rating in the BNCAP safety crash tests.
