Tata Tiago Facelift Launched! The most affordable Tata car ever!

Say hello to the new Tata Tiago, Tata has finally introduced the facelifted Tiago at the starting price of ₹4.69 lakh onwards (ex-showroom)-- making the Tiago the most affordable car in the brand's lineup. This practical, entry-level hatchback has been given a comprehensive update for the 2026 model year. It sports a new fascia that  retains its signature aggressive stance and comes loaded with a host of segment-first features across its petrol, CHNG and electric derivatives. Here’s what you need to know:

Exteriors

On the outside,Tiago benefits from a sleeker design language. The front end features a redesigned, slimmer grille flanked by sharper headlamps and distinctive LED DRLs, while the front bumper gains a sporty splitter lip. The side profile is enhanced by fresh 15-inch alloy designs, blacked-out mirrors, and chrome garnishing on the door handles. At the rear the taillamps are now connected with a clean, non-illuminated strip. While the overall silhouette remains reminiscent of the previous model, the EV distinguishes itself with a body-coloured trim replacing the standard front grille.

The car will be available in six fresh pastel colours: Varanasi Vibrance (Red exclusive to the petrol), Dehradun Dew (Green exclusive to the EV), SoBo Surge, Pangong Pulse (Blue), Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Daytona Grey.

Interiors

Inside, the cabin has received a massive technological and comfort upgrade, wrapped in a sophisticated black-and-grey dual-tone theme. The passenger comfort has been significantly improved with better-supported fabric upholstery, a cooled glovebox, and highly anticipated addition of rear AC vents.

Drivers are treated to a revised steering wheel equipped with audio and cruise controls, alongside a 10.7-inch partly digital TFT display instrument cluster features bluetooth connectivity

For the first time in this segment Tata introduces dual wireless chargers and steering-mounted paddle shifters.

Entertainment is handled by a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while AMT variants feature a rotary dial for gear selector.

Powertrain

Under the hood, Tata offers three distinct powertrain options to suit different needs. The petrol version carries over the 1199cc three-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox, generating 84bhp and 113Nm of torque with a claimed efficiency of 19km/l.

The bi-fuel i-CNG variant produces 72bhp and 95Nm, delivering an impressive ARAI-certified mileage of 26km to 28km of range.

For electric buyers, the Tiago.ev is available with two battery packs: a 19kWh unit offering a claimed range of 223km, and a larger 24kWh pack providing a claimed range of 285km. The EV now supports fast charging, capable of adding 100km in just 18-minutes of charge. Furthermore, Tata provides an incredible peace of mind by offering a lifetime warranty on the 24kWh battery pack, while the 19kWh battery pack comes with a standard 8-year or 1.6 lakh km warranty.

Prices and Rivals

In-terms of pricing, the petrol ranges from ₹4.69 lakh to ₹6.99 lakh ex-showroom. The i-CNG variants sits roughly one lakh rupee higher, stretching from ₹5.79 lakh to ₹7.99 lakh ex-showroom. Meanwhile the Tiago.ev is positioned between ₹6.99 lakh and ₹9.99 lakh ex-showroom. With its refreshed packaging and aggressive pricing, the Tiago continues to fiercely compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Celerio, Maruti WagonR, while its electric counterpart goes head-to-head with the MG Comet.
