The Garagisti GP1: A British Hypercar With An Italian V12 Twist

The name Garagisti GP1 might have you picturing a low-slung machine roaring down Italian coastal roads. But this new hypercar comes from Britain, albeit with a heart transplanted straight from Italy. In the middle sits a 6.6-litre naturally aspirated V12 developed by Italtecnica, producing 789 bhp at 9000 rpm and 800 Nm of torque. This is no gentle cruiser — it is an ode to the days when revving high was a badge of honour.

The power is transmitted through a six-speed manual gearbox from the British firm Xtrac. Brembo handles the stopping power while Ohlins looks after the suspension. The carbon fibre chassis and monocoque come courtesy of Dexet, a specialist with experience in Formula 1 projects. All told, the hardware list reads like a roll call of motorsport credibility.

Styling is courtesy of Angel Guerra, formerly of Bugatti-Rimac, who has drawn inspiration from the sharp-edged wedge era of the 1970s. There are clear nods to the Lamborghini Countach and Lancia Stratos Zero, right down to Alfa-style teledial wheels. Inside, things are stripped back to keep the focus on driving. There is no large infotainment screen, and even the instrument display hides away until the engine fires up.

Garagisti co-founder Mario Escudero says the aim was to imagine a world where the golden age of analogue supercars never ended — a lineage stretching from the Countach Evoluzione to a modern-day V12 with mechanical purity intact.

Production will be limited to just 25 units, each priced at around ₹25 crore (before taxes and shipping). The first 12 buyers will get special access to the development programme. Whether Garagisti can join the elite ranks of hypercars remains to be seen. Still, for enthusiasts, the promise of a high-revving V12 and a manual gearbox in 2025 is reason enough to pay attention.
