Key Details
The EX30 is Volvo’s third EV to be locally assembled at its Hosakote plant near Bengaluru. Under the skin, you get a single-motor extended-range setup producing 268 bhp and 343 Nm. Performance is brisk, with a 0–100 kmph sprint in 5.3 seconds and a top speed capped at 180 kmph. Power comes from a 69 kWh lithium-ion battery good for a WLTP-rated 480 km range.
In typical Volvo fashion, safety tech is extensive. The EX30 packs the brand’s ‘Safe Space’ suite, complete with five radars, five cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. There’s also adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping aid, intersection auto-brake, and blind-spot monitoring to name a few.
The cabin mixes Scandinavian simplicity with sustainability, featuring upholstery and panels made from recycled denim, PET bottles, aluminium, and even old PVC pipes. A panoramic sunroof, 12.3-inch central display with Google built-in, Harman Kardon’s 1040W soundbar-style audio system, and five ambient lighting themes are part of the standard package. Practicality isn’t forgotten either, you get a 318-litre boot and a 7-litre frunk.
Each car is bundled with a “hassle-free” ownership package, which includes a 3-year comprehensive warranty, 3-year service plan, 8-year/1,60,000 km battery warranty, roadside assistance, a wall box charger, and five years of connected digital services.
Summary
With the EX30, Volvo is banking on design, sustainability, and an aggressive price tag to pull more buyers into the luxury EV fold. Deliveries begin in November, just in time for the festive season rush.
