BMW is getting ready to refresh one of its most important models for India. Pre-launch bookings for the all-new BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro open from 12.30 pm on January 30, with the official launch scheduled for February 16, 2026.
The fourth-generation X3 will be locally produced at the BMW Group Plant Chennai, which clearly indicates where it is positioned in the brand’s India portfolio.
A sharper, more confident design
The new X3 wears a noticeably bolder look. The proportions remain familiar, but the surfacing is more assertive and the details sharper. The highlight is the Iconic Glow kidney grille, which adds a distinctive signature, especially at night.
India will get the X3 exclusively with the M Sport Professional package. This means sportier bumpers, larger alloy wheels and darker exterior accents that give the SUV a more athletic stance without tipping into excess.
More power, same everyday usability
Under the bonnet, the X3 30 xDrive gets a significantly upgraded powertrain. BMW has not yet shared exact figures for India, but the emphasis is clearly on a bump in power and torque over the outgoing model.
Expect brisk acceleration, strong mid-range performance and the familiar xDrive All Wheel Drive system that prioritises stability and confidence across varying road conditions. As before, the focus remains on combining performance with day-to-day comfort rather than outright aggression.
Cabin tech and comfort take a step forward
Inside, the new X3 aims to raise the bar in its segment. While full specifications will be revealed closer to launch, BMW says the SUV blends best-in-class comfort with the latest technology.
A fully digital cockpit, advanced driver assistance systems and a more premium finish are expected to be key talking points. BMW’s emphasis appears to be on making the X3 feel more upmarket without losing its driver-focused character.
Booking and launch details
Pre-bookings for the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro open on January 30, 2026, across BMW’s dealership network and online. The SUV will officially go on sale on February 16, 2026. Customers can also register interest and schedule test drives through BMW’s official India website.
The takeaway
The new BMW X3 looks set to build on a strong foundation rather than reinvent it. With a more commanding design, a stronger engine and local production keeping it competitive, it should continue to appeal to buyers looking for a premium SUV that balances performance, comfort and everyday usability.
