2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift launched, prices start from Rs 6.49 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new Swift in India, and in its fourth generation, the hatchback gets a comprehensive styling update as well as an updated powertrain. Prices for the popular hatchback start from Rs 6.49 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 9.64 lakh, or the top of the line variant.

Maruti Swift Design

The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift bears similarity to the previous generation, with updated styling to keep the car fresh. The biggest visual change is the front fascia, which now houses a larger piano black grille that is devoid of chrome strips. The bumpers have been reprofiled too and the Swift gets LED headlamps which sport a new DRL light signature. The Suzuki logo now sits larger and more prominently above the grille as opposed to before, and there is a strong shoulder line running from the clamshell bonnet to the redesigned LED tail lamps. The Swift gets 15-inch alloy wheels and the rear door handles have now moved to a more conventional position on the door itself. The rear bumper of the Swift also appears wider and chunkier than the previous generation. 

Maruti Swift Interior

Step inside the Swift and you now get a new layered dashboard layout that is similar to what is offered on the Baleno and the Fronx compact SUV. The dashboard now gets a high-set 9-inch infotainment screen that falls in your line of sight, as compared to earlier when the screen was positioned lower down in the dashboard. The infotainment supports Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto phone connectivity. You get physical controls for the automatic climate control and the Swift gets an MID in the instrument cluster, flanked by the analogue gauges for the speedometer and the tachometer. Meanwhile, the steering wheel continues to be identical to the model it replaces.

Maruti Swift Engine

The big talking point about the fourth-generation Swift is the new Z12 three-cylinder engine that replaces the earlier K-Series four-cylinder motor. This engine  produces 82hp of power and 112Nm of torque, and it engine can be had with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed AMT.

Maruti Swift Prices

Prices for the Swift start from Rs 6.49 lakh for the entry-level manual variant going up to Rs 9.14 lakh for the top-spec manual. The AMT equipped Swift starts from Rs. 7.79 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec trims.
