Hyundai India earlier announced the launch of the much-awaited Hyundai Tucson in India. Prices for the Tucson start at Rs 27.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the Platinum petrol variant. Prices for the other variants of Tucson will be announced soon. Moreover, bookings have commenced for Tucson with a booking amount of Rs 50,000. For the Indian market, Hyundai is launching Tucson with two engine options and an AWD model. In its petrol guise, it shares the same 2.0-litre petrol engine found in the Alcazar, which makes 156PS and 192 Nm. This pairs with a six-speed torque-converter automatic. On the diesel, the Tucson will come with a 2.0-litre motor that puts out 186PS and 416Nm, which is mated to an 8-speed torque converter gearbox. In addition, customers can also opt for AWD with an AWD lock function and terrain modes on the top-spec diesel guise. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson certainly has eye-catching features such as parametric hidden DRLs, LED lighting, 64-colour ambient lighting, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 10-way powered driver's seat with lumbar, 8-way powered front passenger seat. Not only that but a powered tailgate, heated and cooled front seats, wireless phone charging, cruise control, wireless charging, blue link connected tech, 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and Bose 8-speaker audio are also offered as standard on the Hyundai Tucson. Looking at the pricing of Hyundai Tucson, it slots itself right in the middle of its competitors, such as the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and the Citroen C5 Aircross. In contrast, the C5 Aircross is only available with a diesel powertrain, so it seems like Hyundai Tucson has the edge over its competitors already.
