Jeep launches Meridian X Special Edition in India

Jeep has launched the Jeep Meridian X Special Edition in the Indian market. This special variant upgrades both the exterior and interior of the SUV. A limited number of this variant will be made, and the bookings will now be open at the dealerships across India and through Jeep’s website.

Jeep Meridian X Changes

On the outside, the X Special Edition gets some updates, like body-coloured lowers, contrasting grey roof rails, and alloy wheels with grey pockets. These give the SUV a confident look and help it stand out in the SUV crowd. The color options of the X edition are the same as the standard Meridian, these include Velvet Red, Techno Metallic Green, Magnesio Grey, Pearl White, Brilliant Black, Galaxy Blue,Silvery Moon.

On the inside, it has new additions like Side Molding, Puddle Lamps, Adjustable Ambient Lighting, Sunshades, Air Purifier, Dash Cam, Premium Carpet Mats, and an optional Rear Seat Entertainment package.

Jeep Meridian X Powertrain

The engine in the X Special Edition is the same as others: a 2L Multijet II Diesel engine that produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Jeep claims that this SUV can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.8 seconds and sustain this performance until a maximum speed of 198 km/h. You can get two transmission options in the Jeep Meridian range with this powertrain in the form of a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque convertor automatic. Jeep has not given the details of the transmissions Meridian X will get.

Jeep Meridian X Competitors

Considering its 7 seater format, the Jeep Meridian will directly compete with the highly demanded Fortuner and other SUVs like the MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Ford Endeavour. Jeep recently also teased the Meridian Facelift while launching the Wrangler.
