Planning to buy a Jeep Meridian? Wait for its facelift. Jeep has been quite busy planning for the New Wrangler, so it came to us as a surprise when they teased the Meridian. The Meridian, which serves as a 7-seater version of the Compass, was last updated in 2022. We have the latest information that it will be facelifted before the end of 2024. While the major details aren't out yet, here’s all we know about it.
Jeep has not revealed any details about the exterior changes that will be made to the Merdian. We do expect them to make some style adjustments akin to the ones we saw on the latest Compass. These could include refreshed bumpers on either side and headlamps with a new profile.
The first addition would be a new seat upholstery, giving it a more lavish look. The Meridian is already a feature-packed SUV with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated and powered front-row seats, a digital instrument panel, and a 360-degree camera. Some new features that will make way in the new generation. They could be a Level 2 ADAS suite, a more immersive 12.3-inch infotainment screen enabled by a new UI, and rear window blinds.
A 2.0-litre diesel guzzler powers the current generation of the Meridian. It produces 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. The two transmission options with it include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque converter automatic. This is likely to continue in the facelifted version as well.
An addition could be a petrol version of the SUV. This could be borrowed from the Brazil-spec Meridian (Commander), which has a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine capable of producing 185hp.
With the outgoing version retailing at Rs 33.60-39.66 Lakhs, we expect the facelift to get a bump in price. It rivals the highly demanded Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and MG Gloster.
