Kia Unveils India-bound EV6 Facelift

Kia is prepared to overhaul its popular EV6. It has unveiled the facelifted variant with various changes, including upgrades to the design, features, and interior. Here is all you need to know about the South Korean giant's latest EV6 facelift.

Kia EV6 Design

The changes start with an updated front fascia. Kia has opted for angular LED daytime running lamps instead of the traditional headlamp layout. This will align with the rest of the Kia EVs, such as the EV9 and the EV3 SUV concept. The lower grill also gets a modern touch, making the overall design more appealing. The EV6 also rides on 19 or 20-inch alloys with an updated look. Unlike the front, the side and rear do not have too many changes, except for minor tweaks to the tail lamps and rear bumper.

When you enter the cabin, you will first notice the curved panoramic screen that contains both the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment panel. The steering is a two-spoke one that contains a fingerprint scanner. This helps legitimate users to drive the car without using the key. The car is set to get OTA updates for various features in the future, such as electronic controls. One more screen in the cabin is the updated heads-up display with an AI navigation setup. It makes use of the front cameras along with some graphics. The rearview mirror is digital on this version of the EV6.

Kia EV6 Powertrain

A new battery pack powers the EV6, with 84kWh capacity. This replaces the 77.4 kWH pack that was available earlier with the EV6. The RWD variant of the EV6 now gets a 494 km range, a 19 km upgrade over the previous version's 475 km. You can charge this battery with 350 kW DC charging, which can go from 10 to 80 percent state of charge in 18 minutes. The RWD gets a motor that can produce 225 hp and 350 Nm of torque. With the dual motor variants, you will get 320 hp and 605 Nm. Kia claims the ride is now more comfortable thanks to frequency selective dampers.

Kia EV6 India Launch

The Kia EV6 facelift is expected to reach the Indian shores next year, and a facelifted Kia Carens might follow.
