MG Comet gets what was missing

FAST CHARGING of 7.4kW in the top two variants has now been made available with this Metropolitan. The top spec of this city runabout is only Rs 56,000 extra, making it all the more compelling.

The Comet’s looks alone and the features it packs are supposed to be more modern and hi-tech (by no means do I wish to have a future full of peculiar moving refrigerators). Well, things have gotten better, read the full article to know more.

What’s New

MG’s new upgrades include fast charging, rear disc brakes, ESC, hill-hold control, electrically foldable ORVM which are also body-coloured, creep function and an e-parking switch that replaces the manual handbrake on the top two trims.

While we are on the topic of trims the old range namely Pace,Play and Plush are scrapped, with the triplets now beling called Executive, Excite and Exclusive. This shows us the clear intention of business hereafter from MG.

The latest additions will give users a better city experience for sure, which has always been its natural habitat. Moreover, the most important rendition has been the 7.4kW AC fast charging. This is on par with the segment standards set by the competitors.

That said, MG has not shared the charging time with recently developed fast charging. For reference, the regular 3.3kW AC charger takes up to 8 hours to fill the batteries from 0-100 in the real world.

What Else

Talking about the elephant in the room (I meant quite the opposite) the dimensions of the vehicle are designed by keeping city errands in mind. Thus the MG Comet EV is the smallest car you can buy in India with just 2,974mm in length, 1,505mm in width, and 1,640mm in height.

Fun fact: If you are thinking of the Tata Nano it was 3,099mm in length, 1,495mm in width and 1,652mm in height.

MG Comet remains a persuasive product, now with a host of new conveniences and undercutting price by a considerable amount from any alternatives. The prices starting from Rs 6.99 lakh and tops at Rs 9.14 lakh.
