Range Rover and Range Rover Sport: Reduced Price and Made in India

The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will now be produced in India. This is the first time that Range Rovers will be produced in any country outside Britain. They follow the long line of JLR Models that have started in India production. Range Rover has also announced the establishment of the Range Rover house in Alibaug. Read ahead to see the reduced prices due to Indian production. 

Range Rover India Production 

The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will now be manufactured in Pune, along with the various JLR products in India. This plant has been actively producing JLR models in association with Tata Motors since 2011. This will supplement the global production of Range Rover, which remains in Solihull, UK. 

Decreased Prices of Range Rover

This will lead to a significant decrease in prices of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover 3.0 L Diesel HSE LWB is now priced at ₹2.36 Crore and the Range Rover 3.0 L Petrol Autobiography LWB is priced at ₹2.60 Crore (ex-showroom). Range Rover Sport 3.0 L Petrol Dynamic SE and 3.0 L Diesel Dynamic SE are priced at ₹1.40 Crore, ex-showroom.

The prices for the Range Rover have been dropped by up to Rs 56 lakh, while the Range Rover Sport now costs up to Rs 29 lakh less than before.

Range Rover and Range Rover Sport 

The Range Rover is based on the MLA-Flex body architecture. It has an integrated Active Noise Cancellation system that stops wheel vibrations, tyre noise and engine sounds from entering the cabin. It also comes with air purification, a 13.1-inch curved display, a 1600 W Meridian Signature Sound System, and an All-wheel steering to further the experience. It is powered by either a 3.0 L Diesel HSE delivering power of 346 hp and torque of 700 Nm or a petrol Autobiography with a power output of 393 kW and torque of 550 Nm. Its locally manufactured models begin on 24th May. 

The Range Rover Sport is based on the same platform as the Range Rover but adds some features. It has Dynamic Air Suspension, Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control, and better interiors with connected tech. It is powered by the same engine as the Range Rover. Its locally manufactured models will be delivered from 16 August 2024.

The Range Rover House

The Range Rover House will serve as an exclusive, modern luxury experience for Alibaug buyers. Range Rover claims it is “designed to reflect the tastes and desires of the discerning and affluent clientele of the region”.
