Volkswagen Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport Launched!

Volkswagen has released the prices of its previously announced Taigun GT Line and GT Sport. These models completely revamp the GT variants of the SUV. Talking about pricing, the GT Line starts at Rs 14.08 lakh. The Taigun GT Plus Sport has an initial price of Rs 18.54 Lakh. What is so special about these models? Find an answer to that ahead.

Taigun GT Line Highlights

The GT line offers a single powertrain: a 1.0L turbo petrol that can produce up to 115 bhp. This engine is mated with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. It's similar in features to the Taigun Topline but gets some tweaks.

The interior, with its black theme and contrasting grey stitching, has a sporty touch. Volkswagen has continued the SUV's sportiness by replacing chrome elements with black ones at places like the front grille, headlights, roof rails, spoiler, and badges. It rides on 17-inch 'Casino' alloy wheels.

Taigun GT Plus Sport

While the GT line is limited to the 1.0L turbo petrol, the GT Plus Sport comes with the more powerful 1.5L turbo-petrol engine that produces 150 hp. This engine is coupled with the same 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option. Its feature sheet mimics the Taigun GT Plus Chrome, except for the blacked-out styling. Suppose you're wondering how it's different from the GT Line. In that case, the answer is in the various red bits used all over, like the grille, front fender, boot lid, and brake callipers. It also gets a red GT badge on the grill. The red touches continue inside on the seats, steering wheel, armrests and doors. It has confidence-inspiring aluminium pedals as well. You can also get a free 4-year Service Value Package (SVP) on the upper-range GT Plus Sport variants.

Price Range and Competition

The GT line starts at 14.08 Lakhs and goes to 15.63 Lakh Ex-Showroom. On the other hand, the GT Plus sport starts at Rs 18.54 lakh and goes to 19.74 lakh Ex-Showroom. This pricing puts it in direct competition with its sibling Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos X-line, and the recently launched Hyundai Creta N-line.
