In a gathering at JK House, Formula 2 driver Kush Maini was honoured for his breakthrough victory at the Monaco Grand Prix—an achievement that marks a major milestone in Indian motorsport.
The celebration was hosted by Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of Raymond Group. A lifelong racing enthusiast himself, Singhania has been a long-time mentor to Maini and played a key role in his development. His connection to motorsport runs deep—he has raced in the Ferrari Challenge Series in Europe and previously served as India’s representative at the FIA.
“At Raymond, and personally for me it was a moment of immense pride to hear our national anthem play and see the tricolour rise at Monaco,” said Singhania. “His historic win, the first-ever Formula 2 victory for Indian representation, marks a defining global milestone for Indian motorsport, and we are proud to celebrate it. Kush Maini embodies the spirit of young India, grounded in excellence, discipline, and resilience. As Raymond enters its centenary year, his success reflects our continued commitment to inspiring and empowering the next generation of Indian achievers on the global stage.”
India on the Podium
Maini’s win in Monaco—arguably the most iconic circuit in racing—follows a strong 2024 F2 season that saw him secure a pole position and five podiums. He now serves as Reserve Driver for the Alpine Formula 1 team, pushing the boundaries for Indian drivers on the world stage.
Commenting on the recognition, Maini said, “It is indeed an honour to be backed by Mr. Singhania and Raymond Group—an institution that embodies legacy, leadership, and excellence. Mr. Singhania’s deep understanding of motorsports and his indomitable spirit is inspiring for one and all. To be associated with a national brand that is celebrating its 100th year and believes in nurturing talent and global narratives is truly special.”
The event doubled as a tribute to both an emerging racing star and a legacy brand leaning into the future.
