Thrills and Tight Finishes at JK Tyre Racing Round 2

Round 2 of the JK Tyre Racing Season 2025 wrapped up at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore over a weekend packed with close finishes, emerging talent, and plenty of action. The event featured the debut of the JK Tyre Levitas Cup, the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, and the JK Tyre Novice Cup, highlighting the brand’s continued commitment to nurturing racing talent across India.

JK Tyre Levitas Cup

Newly introduced this year, the Levitas Cup provided a platform for both rookies and seasoned drivers. Jai Prashanth Venkat impressed in the final race, covering 10 laps of the 2.3 km circuit in 14:38.492. Saturday saw young talent Nihal Singh from Gurugram make his mark by winning Race 1, though mechanical issues on Sunday limited his performance.

The four-race weekend also saw seasoned guest driver Mira Erda consistently finish on the podium, clocking 14:38.750 in Race 4 and praising the car’s safety features and handling. Jai Prashanth’s best lap across the weekend was 1:26.100, showing the competitive edge of both driver and machine.

Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup

Sunday’s bike races delivered intense wheel-to-wheel action. Professionals Navaneeth Kumar and Anish D Shetty battled all weekend, with Navaneeth edging out Anish by just 0.002 seconds in the final race. Their best laps were 1:16.898 (Anish) and 1:16.991 (Navaneeth). Amateurs also gained valuable experience, with rookies like Johring Warisa from Assam learning fast against seasoned competitors.

JK Tyre Novice Cup

The Novice Cup proved to be another highlight, with three closely contested races showcasing India’s next generation of racers. Bhuvan Bonu of MSPORT secured two victories (Race 1 – 16:06.951, Race 3 – 16:26.624), while Abhijit Vadavalli of Momentum Motorsports took Race 2 in 14:23.860. Podium finishes also featured Vinith Kumar M and Lokithlingeash Ravi, emphasising the depth of emerging talent.
