Tata Teases Upcoming Electric SUV Concept; To Be Unveiled On April 6

Tata Motors is looking forward to reshuffling some cards in the Indian automotive industry by unveiling a new product on April 6. The thinktanks of our industry previously expected it to be an updated version of the Nexon EV with an updated battery pack but Tata has put all those rumours to rest. The latest teaser released by the homegrown player hints that it isn’t the hotly anticipated Altroz EV nor is it an electrified version of the Punch. It might not be the dreamy Sierra EV either but whatever it is, it is sure to captivate one’s mind. This upcoming concept electric SUV will be fully unveiled on April 6 and will play a crucial role in shedding some light on Tata’s roadmap towards an electric future. https://youtu.be/eqHMh7omZMY This upcoming concept EV will also feature Tata’s signature split headlamps and will have a butch front fascia. The apple shouldn’t fall far from the tree, right? It is also being assumed that this concept SUV will ditch traditional ORVMs for… wait for it… rear-facing cameras! The alloy wheels too, feature an aerodynamic design, hinting that it is indeed a peek into the future of Indian mobility. It is also quite prominently visible that this EV will flaunt a coupe-like roofline, thanks to the acute angle of the rear spoiler. It could turn out to be a heavily redesigned Nexon Coupe EV but these are all talks in the air and we will have to wait till April 6 when Tata demystifies this concept. Tata currently has two EVs in its portfolio, namely Nexon EV and Tigor EV. While little has come to light regarding this upcoming EV, it is safe to assume that it will pack enough technology and performance that it could very well become the flagship offering in Tata’s electrified portfolio. It could boast of a larger battery pack than the one found in the Nexon EV. Watch this space as we bring you the latest updates regarding this upcoming EV from the house of Tata.
