Aprilia Unveils RSV4 X-GP: A MotoGP-Derived Limited Edition

At the Catalunya Grand Prix, Aprilia Racing introduced the RSV4 X-GP, a limited-edition track motorcycle created to mark ten years since the RS-GP made its MotoGP debut. Only 30 units will be produced, each carrying a price tag of €90,000 (93 lakh INR) excluding taxes.

Aerodynamics Inspired by MotoGP

The RSV4 X-GP borrows directly from the RS-GP25, particularly in its aerodynamic design. For the first time on a factory-derivative bike, Aprilia has added leg wings and tail wings, technologies recently introduced on its MotoGP prototype. These components, combined with front and under wings, increase aerodynamic load during braking and cornering while also improving grip and stability.

A unique feature is the structural carbon seat support, manufactured by PAN Compositi. This element reduces weight while increasing stiffness, creating a riding experience closer to that of the race machine.

Engine and Electronics

Power comes from a 1,099 cc 65° V4 engine tuned to deliver 238 hp at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 11,750 rpm. A titanium SC-Project exhaust, STM dry clutch, and racing-spec airbox complete the setup.

The RSV4 X-GP runs on Aprilia Racing’s APX electronic control unit, a system with roots in World Superbike. It allows fine-tuning of traction control, engine braking, and power delivery for each gear, along with data logging and a GPS for track analysis.

Chassis and Components

The chassis combines an aluminium frame with mechanically adjustable Öhlins suspension and Brembo GP4 MS brakes with 330 mm T-Drive discs. Magnesium Marchesini wheels are paired with slick Pirelli tyres, the same used in World Superbike racing.

Attention to detail extends to billet aluminium parts from Spider, carbon bodywork, and WSBK-derived oversized radiators. Each unit also comes with a racing support package, including tyre warmers, stands, and a dedicated laptop for ECU adjustments.

Exclusive Ownership

Buyers will collect their bikes directly from Aprilia’s racing headquarters in Noale, Italy, with a factory tour included. An NFT certificate of authenticity will also accompany each RSV4 X-GP.

Conclusion

With the RSV4 X-GP, Aprilia Racing has distilled a decade of MotoGP experience into a track-only machine aimed at a select group of enthusiasts. Its combination of advanced aerodynamics, lightweight engineering, and race-derived electronics makes it one of the closest experiences to riding a MotoGP bike outside the championship.
