Avore has officially launched the EX, its first electric motorcycle. The motorcycle is available in three variants, with a starting price of ₹1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant. Bookings are open for ₹799 and deliveries are scheduled to begin within two months. Here's everything you need to know about the Avore EX motorcycle.
Design
The Avore EX adopts a conventional motorcycle silhouette aimed at easing the transition for riders moving from ICE motorcycles to electric mobility. It retains familiar propositions while incorporating modern design.
The higher EX2S and the EX2 variant get four dual-tone paint scheme options; meanwhile, the entry-level EX1 variant is offered in three single-tone colour options.
Battery, Performance and Range
Powering the motorcycle is a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM)
The entry-level EX1 is equipped with an active-cooled 3.24kWh IPU-X battery pack with claimed IDC range of 160km, while real-world range in Eco mode is rated up to 125km. The motorcycle gets Eco, City and Sport riding modes and can reach a top speed of 100km/h.
Moving up the range, the EX2 uses a 5kWh larger battery pack with claimed IDC range of 255km, while the real-world Eco mode range stands at 201km. Like the EX1, it gets Eco, City and Sport riding modes and a top speed of 100km/h.
At the top of the lineup sits the EX2S variant, which uses a 5kWh battery pack with claimed IDC range of 260km. It accelerates from 0 to 40km/h in 2.8 seconds, has a top speed of 114km/h, making it the longest-range variant in the lineup.
All the variants produce 250Nm of peak wheel torque.
Charging convenience is another area where the EX aims to stand out. All the variants are equipped with a 1500W onboard fast charger, which can be charged directly from a 5A or 15A household socket without requiring dedicated charging infrastructure.
The battery gets charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 2 hours and from 0% to 100% in approximately 4 hours.
Features and Rider Aids
The EX1 and EX2 variants are equipped with a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster that supports GPS functionality and essential ride information. The EX2S, meanwhile, gets a 7-inch smart TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation.
Through Avore's connected platform, riders can access vehicle diagnostics, security alerts and ride data directly from their smartphones. The system also tracks real-time energy flow, riding consistency and monthly riding statistics to generate a rider performance score.
The TFT display on the EX2S can further analyse journeys through detailed trip graphs, mapping speed, elevation and battery state of charge against route data.
The bike also gets a Smart Geo-Fencing feature, which is a virtual security feature controlled via the smartphone, in which you get real-time alerts whenever your bike enters or exits designated zones.
The EX1 and EX2 variants get 4 riding modes: Eco, City and Sports, and reverse, while the EX2S gets six riding modes: PAM+, Eco, City, Apex, Reverse and Gear mode. The EX2S variant gets a physical gear lever that allows riders to modulate power delivery more traditionally, combining the feel of shifting gears with instant torque delivery of an electric motorcycle.
