BGauss C12 MaxR Launched In India at introductory price of ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom)

BGauss has launched the new C12 MaxR electric scooter in India. Positioned as a practical yet feature-loaded electric scooter. The C12 MaxR is powered by a 3.8kWh battery and gives a claimed IDC range of 178km. Prices for the BGauss C12 MaxR start at ₹1.46 lakh (introductory ex-showroom)

Suspension, wheels and brakes

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front, while the rear gets a five-step adjustable, Nitro gas-charged single hydraulic suspension setup. The C12 MaxR gets 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends and is equipped with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake with CBS at the rear. 

Weight and Dimensions

The scooter weighs 126kg and has a seat height of 768mm, while ground clearance stands at 160mm. BGauss also claims a water-wading capacity of 300mm, which should make the C12 MaxR better suited to dealing with India’s unpredictable monsoon conditions.

Battery And Motor

Powering the C12 MaxR is a 3.8kWh LFP battery with 3.4kWh of usable capacity. The battery is CAN-enabled and gets an IP67 rating. BGauss claims an IDC range of 178km. Charging duties are handled by a 750 watt charger which charges the 3.4kWh battery from 0 to 80 per cent in 3 hours and 50 minutes. A full 0-100 per cent charge takes 5 hours and 15 minutes. The battery sends power to a hub mounted motor which produces 4.2kW of peak power. The C12 MaxR has a claimed top speed of 75kmph.

Features And Rider Aids

In terms of features, the C12 MaxR gets a 5-inch TFT display, although it misses out on touchscreen. It also gets three riding modes: Eco, Ride and Sport. Other features include  cruise control, limp mode, reverse mode and a fall-sense system. It also gets bluetooth connectivity which enables connected features like turn-by-turn navigation, call notifications and document storage. The scooter also gets app-based features such as DigiLocker integration and an SOS function.

Pricing and market positioning

The BGauss C12 MaxR has been launched in India at an introductory price of ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival with the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, TVS IQube and Vida VX2.
