Bike sales analysis: February 2026

Building on the strong momentum from the start of the year, the Indian two-wheeler market continued its impressive year-on-year growth in February 2026. With major growth being recorded across the board, however, 100 to 125cc motorcycles and scooters remain the primary breadwinners for all major manufacturers. 

With a strong domestic market backed by an even stronger export demand, this month has been one of the best months for Indian two-wheeler sales, with double-digit year-on-year growth recorded by all major two-wheeler manufacturers. 

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India - 5,67,351 units

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters remains to lead the two-wheeler sales in India with reported sales of 5,67,351 units in February 2026. With a Year-on-year growth of 34 per cent compared to February 2025. Domestic sales accounted for almost all the sales volume, with models like the Activa, Shine and the Unicorn continuing to lead the sales charts. 

Hero MotoCorp - 5,58,216 units

Securing the second spot, Hero MotoCorp reported total sales of 5,58,216 units, with a massive year-on-year growth of 44 per cent compared to last year. Backed by refreshed Destini and Zoom models, contributing to their scooter portfolio. Exports saw a significant growth of 34 per cent with 41,248 units sold, with commuter motorcycles like the Splendour and the HF Deluxe continuing to dominate the domestic pie. The Vida electric range also impressed with 12,514 units sold, solidifying Hero's position in the electric scooter market. 

TVS Motor Company - 5,29,308 units

The TVS Motor Company recorded total sales of 5,29,308 units in February 2026, with a year-on-year growth of 31 per cent. Domestic sales rose by 32 percent but most importantly, exports rose by 27 per cent. With a staggering 1.58-lakh units exported, this has been the highest export figures ever recorded for TVS. The Apache series continues to be India's highest selling sporty commuter, and the iQube electric series being India’s best-selling electric scooter. 

Bajaj Auto - 4,48,259 units

Bajaj Auto reported a total sales of 4,48,259 units in February 2026. The Chakan-based manufacturer saw a year-on-year growth of 27 per cent over the same period last year. The Pulsar series remains the most popular of all the products in its portfolio. The domestic market grew by 27 per cent, and the exports saw a growth of 26 per cent. Bajaj Chetak remained the second best-selling electric scooter in India and reported a nominal growth of 17 per cent over the last year. With a new affordable C25 version released, the sales are only expected to grow from here on. 

Suzuki Motorcycles India - 1,23,299 units

Suzuki motorcycles India sold 1,23,299 units in February 2026, recording a year-on-year growth of 37 per cent. Domestic sales saw a growth of 38 per cent and contributed to the bulk of total units sold, while the exports saw a growth of 33 per cent. Scooters like the Access and the Burgman lead the sales charts, with motorcycles like the Gixxer and the V-Strom contributing to the pie. 

Royal Enfeild - 1,00,905 units

Royal Enfield sold 1,00,905 units in February 2026, with a recorded year-on-year growth of 11 per cent. The domestic and export markets saw a steady growth over the last year, with models like the classic and the hunter 350 continuing to sell in large numbers, driving the sales. 

Electric two-wheeler segment 

The electric two-wheeler segment saw a year-on-year growth of 46 per cent compared to last year. With 1,11,680 units sold, this has been one of the best months for electric two-wheeler sales in India. TVS electric leads the pack with 28 per cent market share with 31,600 units sold, followed by Bajaj Chetak with 25,323 units and Ather electric with 20,581 units. Hero MotoCorp, with its Vida series, claims forth place with 12,512 units sold and Ola Electric, the once dominant market leader, now slips down to sixth place.
