Ducati Desmo 450 EDS is Ducati’s first enduro bike

After unveiling its first-ever motocross bike, the Desmo 450 MX back in December 2025, Ducati has now unveiled its first-ever enduro bike – the Desmo 450 EDS. It is based on the same platform as the Desmo 450 MX but gets various updates to help the rider go on longer trails. Here is everything you need to know about the Ducati Desmo 450 EDS.

Design

The Desmo 450 EDS is designed with the Desmo 450 MX in mind. It gets slim side panels, a high-mounted front fender and bold graphics. It also gets an LED headlight upfront, inspired by bigger Ducati bikes. It also gets an LCD dashboard which shows all the information the rider needs for a day on off-road trails.

Engine, Gearbox and Chassis

The Desmo 450 EDS gets a completely redesigned 449.6cc single-cylinder engine to maximise torque and ensure smoother power delivery. Power figures are not disclosed yet, but we expect the Desmo 450 EDS to produce almost the same power as the Desmo 450 MX (62.6bhp and 52.5Nm of torque). The Desmo 450 EDS gets a 6-speed gearbox. The Desmo 450 EDS gets a reworked Aluminium frame to ensure stiffness. Ducati claims that the chassis of the Desmo 450 EDS weighs only 9kg and is made up of only 11 parts.

Suspension and Brakes

The Desmo 450 EDS features Showa suspension at both ends. Upfront, it gets 49mm fully adjustable upside-down forks with 310mm of travel, and it gets a fully adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear with 301mm of travel. It gets a braking system by Brembo, featuring a 260mm disk at the front and a 240 mm disc at the back. The Desmo 450 EDS is equipped with Metzeler Six Days Extreme tyres. It gets 21-inch wheels at the front and 18-inch wheels at the back.

Features and Rider aids

In terms of features and rider aids, the Ducati Desmo 450 EDS gets Ducati traction control system with four levels of intervention. It also gets two riding modes as standard; however, Ducati is also offering an electronics package which adds launch control and engine brake control, which can be configured through the Ducati X-Link app.

Verdict

The Desmo 450 MX was launched recently in the Indian market and we expect that there is high possibility of Ducati launching the Desmo 450 EDS soon.
