For more than two decades, Kawasaki has not introduced a 2-stroke engine bigger than 250cc, but now Kawasaki has unveiled the 2027 KX327X and KX327 for the US market. Both are equipped with a two-stroke engine, and their chassis are derived from the flagship Kawasaki K450F. Here is everything you need to know about the Kawasaki KX327X and KX327
Engine and Gearbox
At the heart of the KX327X and KX327 lies an all-new 327cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, two-stroke engine. Kawasaki says that these engines are designed to deliver strong, controllable performance across a wide range of off-road riding conditions. Kawasaki has also engineered an advanced fuel injection system to provide stable fuel delivery regardless of outside air temperature or atmospheric pressure, helping ensure consistent performance across changing weather conditions and elevations. It also gets a hydraulic clutch system to provide a smooth experience in challenging terrains. The KX327X gets a six-speed gearbox while the KX327 gets a 5-speed gearbox. Exact power figures of the 327cc single-cylinder engine aren't out yet.
Chassis, suspension and brakes
The KX327X and KX327 feature a slim aluminium perimeter frame derived from the KX450F. Kawasaki says that they have carefully managed the centre of gravity to optimise engine characteristics and straight-line stability. Upfront, the Kawasaki KX327X and KX327 use fully adjustable 48mm KYB forks, and the rear uses Kawasaki Uni-Trak suspension. The KX327X and KX327 use Nissin calipers both at the front and rear. Both of the bikes use 270mm front disc and 240mm rear disc. The KX327X uses lightweight aluminium wheels both at the front and rear. The KX327X has an 18-inch wheel at the rear, while the KX327 uses a larger 19-inch wheel.
Ergonomics and equipment
The KX327X and KX327 are equipped with ODI lock-on grips. Riders can choose between 4 handlebar positions and two footpeg positions. The KX327X is equipped with cross-country-focused components, including a larger 8.3-litre fuel tank, hand guards, skid plate, linkage guard, and rear disc guard.
Pricing and availability
The KX327X is priced at $9,699, which is approximately ₹9,28,558, while the KX327 is priced at $9,099, which is approximately ₹8,71,115. Both models are expected to go on sale by the end of 2026.
