TVS NTorq 150 launched at Rs 1.19 lakh

Seven years after the launch of the TVS NTorq 125, TVS has given it an elder sibling. Say hello to the all-new TVS NTorq 150 which is the largest and most powerful scooter in the TVS line-up now. It has been launched at an introductory price of ₹1,19,000 (ex-showroom), gets major styling changes, more features and as expected more on the performance front in comparison to its younger sibling.

TVS NTorq performance, design and safety features

The NTorq 150 is powered by a 149.7cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 13bhp at 7,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. TVS claimms that it can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 104 kmph, making it one of the quickest scooters available in the country. It is offered in two variants: a standard version available in Stealth Silver, Racing Red, and Turbo Blue, and a version with the TFT cluster available in Nitro Green, Racing Red, and Turbo Blue.

The design of the NTORQ 150 is inspired by stealth aircraft and includes several sporty elements like quad projector LED headlamps, new signature ‘T’ shaped tail lamps, aerodynamic winglets, coloured alloy wheels, and a stubby muffler. It also features a naked handlebar similar to motorcycles, and is equipped with a hi-resolution 5-inch TFT digital display that offers more than 50 connected features, including Alexa voice assistant, smartwatch integration, turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle tracking, last parked location, call and message alerts, social media notifications, ride modes, and over-the-air updates.

It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends, suspended by a fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. It gets adjustable brake levers a 22-litre under seat storage space and even a 2-litre glove compartment on the front apron. The scooter is now available at TVS dealerships across India.

For safety, the NTORQ 150 is the first scooter in its segment to offer both single-channel ABS and traction control. It also includes crash and theft alerts, emergency brake warning, hazard lamps, and follow-me-home headlamps that stay on for a short time after the scooter is turned off to light the way in the dark.

Price and rivals

Introductory prices for the NTorq 150 start at Rs 1.19 lakh, ex-showroom, Bengaluru for the standard variant, and Rs 1.29, ex-showroom, Bengaluru for the variant equipped with the TFT screen. And this makes it about Rs 20-25 thousand more expensive than the NTorq 125. It rivals the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160.
