Nissan hasn’t forgotten its roots. While the Z NISMO with a manual is still under wraps, the company has revealed something to keep enthusiasts busy: the 2026 Z Heritage Edition. Limited to 500 cars, this special run dips into the 1990s with styling cues borrowed from the legendary Z32 300ZX and a coat of unmistakable Midnight Purple paint.

Key Details
The Heritage Edition is based on the mid-spec Performance trim, which means you can still have it with a six-speed manual gearbox. Under the bonnet sits the familiar 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6, producing 400bhp and 475Nm of torque, paired with either a manual or a nine-speed automatic.
Visually, it’s where the nostalgia kicks in. Bronze “TWIN TURBO” decals run along the sides, a retro-styled carbon-fibre rear spoiler sits out back, and the 19-inch Rays wheels are period-correct without being overdone. Midnight Purple, famously seen on the GT-R over the decades, is the only colour offered here.
Inside, the changes are subtle: Heritage Edition sill plates, floor mats, and a retro Z logo give a nod to history without overcomplicating things.
For context, the rest of the Z range stays familiar for 2026, save for a new Boulder Gray paint option on Sport and Performance trims. The NISMO remains the range-topper, producing 420bhp and 521Nm, though it sticks with an automatic gearbox only.
Summary
The 2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition is less about raw performance upgrades and more about celebrating a bloodline. With just 500 units, a manual option, and a colour that defines Nissan performance cars, it’s a small but meaningful tribute to the 300ZX era. If you’re into Z nostalgia, this is the one you’ll want parked in your garage.
