Citroen C3 Sport Edition launched at Rs 6.44 lakh

Citroen India has rolled out a new Sport Edition for its C3 hatchback. Priced at a premium of Rs 21,000 over the standard model, the Sport Edition is available across all variants — Live, Feel, and Shine. It’s largely a visual upgrade, so no, the C3 has not suddenly turned into a track weapon.

For those who believe in ‘more is more’, Citroen is also offering an optional Tech Kit for Rs 15,000. It includes a wireless charger and a dashcam, presumably so you can document your heroic grocery runs.

Citroen C3 Sport Edition: Pricing

Here’s what you’ll pay for the Sport Edition (ex-showroom):

Variant Standard Price Sport Edition Price
Live MT Rs 6.23 lakh Rs 6.44 lakh
Feel MT Rs 7.52 lakh Rs 7.73 lakh
Shine MT Rs 8.16 lakh Rs 8.37 lakh
Shine Turbo AT Rs 10 lakh Rs 10.21 lakh

What’s New: Style over Speed

From a styling standpoint, the Sport Edition adds decals on the front bumper, bonnet, roof and doors. There’s also a new Garnet Red exterior colour, which sounds fancy and will likely be the one you see most often on Instagram.

Inside, you get special seat covers, pedals, floor mats and seatbelt cushions. There’s also ambient lighting, which will definitely impress your Uber driver if nothing else.

No Change Under the Bonnet

Mechanically, it’s the same C3 underneath. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 82 bhp and 115 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol option delivers 110 bhp and 190 Nm with the manual, and 205 Nm with the automatic.

Top speeds remain the same — around 160 kmph in the turbo, if you’re really trying. Though in a car with ambient lights and seatbelt cushions, perhaps you’re not.
