Citroën Opens Pre-Bookings for the New Basalt X Range in India

Citroën India has officially begun accepting pre-bookings for the upcoming Basalt X range. The booking amount is set at ₹11,000 and is available both online via the Citroën India website and at authorised dealerships across the country.

The new Basalt X marks the next step in the brand’s ‘Shift into the New’ 2.0 strategy, which aims to make Citroën a more accessible and customer-focused mobility brand in India. Pre-launch images suggest that the model will feature revised interiors and additional technology, hinting at an upgrade designed to deliver more comfort and convenience.

Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director – Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, commented, “The launch of the Basalt range is an important milestone in our Citroën 2.0 journey. With intelligent feature upgrades, the Basalt has been crafted to deliver a more intuitive, comfortable, and confident driving experience. We are excited to open pre-bookings and invite customers to experience the next evolution of Citroën in India.”

The ‘Shift into the New’ programme seems more than just a tagline. Built on extensive customer feedback and market research, Citroën’s new direction is intended to position the brand as both modern and approachable, without abandoning its reputation for quirky charm.

While full technical details of the Basalt X range remain under wraps, the teasers suggest an emphasis on smarter cabin technology, refreshed design elements, and improved usability. Customers can expect Citroën’s hallmark focus on comfort, combined with features suited to India’s competitive SUV market.

With the pre-bookings now live, all eyes will be on the official launch, where Citroën is expected to reveal specifications, performance figures in BHP and Nm, and the final pricing. For now, the Basalt X looks like the French carmaker’s latest move in strengthening its foothold in India’s fast-evolving automotive landscape.
