Jeep Compass Track Edition launched in India

Just when you thought the Jeep Compass range couldn’t get any more diverse, Jeep India has rolled out a limited-run variant called the Compass Track Edition. Based on the top-spec Model S, this new edition adds a layer of exclusivity and flair without straying from Jeep’s core formula of capability, luxury, and road presence.

Subtle design, serious presence

On the outside, the Track Edition wears its uniqueness lightly but confidently. There’s a signature hood decal, Piano Black detailing across the grille and badges, and a Track Edition insignia that quietly tells the world this isn’t your run-of-the-mill Compass. The 18-inch diamond-cut Tech Grey alloys round off the look nicely, ensuring it stands out without shouting about it.

Inside, Jeep has dialled up the sophistication. The cabin gets Tupelo Leatherette seats, Smoke Chrome finishes, Spruce Beige contrast stitching, and embossed Jeep branding that feels more bespoke than mass-produced. You also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Piano Black inserts, and Track Edition floor mats — details that make this special edition feel genuinely premium.

Familiar heart, proven performance

Under the hood sits the tried-and-tested 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo-diesel, producing 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic, with both 2WD and 4WD variants available. The automatic, in particular, remains one of the smoothest in the segment, making highway cruising effortless and off-road trails manageable.

Comfort, tech, and safety

As expected, Jeep hasn’t skimped on equipment. You get a 10.1-inch Uconnect infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, and a premium Alpine sound system. Comfort features include 8-way electronically adjustable ventilated leather seats with memory, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof that’s perfect for long scenic drives.

Safety remains a Compass strong point, with over 50 safety features, including ESC, ABS with EBD, Advanced Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, and Rain Brake Assist. It’s as secure as it is stylish.

Pricing and availability

The Compass Track Edition starts at ₹26.78 lakh for the manual, ₹28.64 lakh for the automatic, and goes up to ₹30.58 lakh for the 4x4 variant (all prices ex-showroom, India, inclusive of AXS pack).

It’s available across Jeep dealerships in India starting today. Limited numbers mean exclusivity, and if you’ve always fancied a Compass that feels a bit more special without losing its rugged edge, this might just be the sweet spot.
