After a two year hiatus, the Jeep Cherokee has made a comeback. Say hello to the 2026 Jeep Cherokee. This new version of the iconic midsize SUV gets a stylish new design, new interior and a hybrid powertrain.
Hybrid Power That Takes You Further
Jeep has taken a bold step forward with the introduction of the 1.6-liter turbo-four hybrid engine, marking the brand’s first hybrid system in North America. This engine is all about efficiency without compromise. With an estimated 15kmpl combined and the ability to achieve over 800km on a single tank of fuel, the 2026 Cherokee is ready to go further than any of its competitors in the segment.
This new hybrid propulsion system delivers 210 horsepower and 312Nm of torque, combining the best of both worlds — electrified torque for smooth acceleration and the power to conquer off-road trails. Whether you're cruising on the highway or venturing off the beaten path, the Cherokee’s hybrid setup is designed to get you there with ease and confidence.
“This is a major step forward in delivering performance and efficiency for our customers,” said Micky Bly, Senior Vice President of Stellantis Global Propulsion Systems. Jeep’s focus is clear: power, range, and performance are all built into one seamless package.
Tech That Elevates Your Drive
The 2026 Jeep Cherokee isn’t just a powerhouse under the hood — it’s packed with cutting-edge technology. Inside, every Cherokee comes with Jeep’s award-winning Uconnect 5 system, which boasts a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Whether you're navigating through the city or mapping out your next off-road adventure, this system is as intuitive as it gets.
The cabin is also filled with high-tech features, from the 10.25-inch full-color digital instrument cluster to active driving assist, which includes a Level 2 driver-assistance system with adaptive cruise control. For added peace of mind, the Cherokee includes safety features like automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and blind-spot monitoring as standard across all trims.
Space and Comfort for Every Adventure
Inside, the 2026 Cherokee has been redesigned to offer more space and comfort. The new layout offers 30% more cargo capacity, which means you can pack more gear for your weekend getaways or fit that extra dog crate when the seats are folded down.
And for those longer journeys, the cabin is filled with thoughtful features that make every trip more enjoyable. Heated and ventilated seats, a dual-pane sunroof, and even a foot-activated power liftgate are available, ensuring convenience and comfort at every turn. Plus, Jeep’s Connect One services package offers over-the-air updates and a Wi-Fi hotspot, keeping you connected no matter where the road takes you.
Legendary Jeep 4x4 Capability
True to its roots, the 2026 Cherokee offers legendary 4x4 capability, powered by Jeep’s standard Active Drive I 4x4 system with a rear-axle disconnect. The Selec-Terrain traction management system lets you choose from four driving modes — Auto, Sport, Snow, and Sand/Mud — ensuring that the Cherokee is ready for anything, from snowy roads to rocky mountain trails.
The 2026 Cherokee also boasts best-in-class approach and departure angles of 19.6 and 29.4 degrees, respectively, and a breakover angle of 18.8 degrees, making it a capable off-road warrior. With 8 inches of ground clearance, the Cherokee is ready to take on whatever nature throws its way, whether it’s a muddy path or a steep incline.
Design That Pays Tribute to the Past
Jeep’s designers have created a fresh, modern look for the 2026 Cherokee, while still paying homage to the iconic models that came before it. The new Cherokee is longer, taller, and wider than its predecessor, with bold, squared-off LED headlights, a distinctive seven-slot grille, and a new rear taillight design inspired by military jerricans.
Inside, the Cherokee is all about blending practicality with a progressive design. Jeep has incorporated sustainable materials throughout, including non-leather upholstery and recycled floor mats, making this a vehicle that’s as eco-conscious as it is capable. The cabin also features a unique perforated pattern on the Overland trim, adding a touch of elegance to the SUV’s rugged appeal.
