Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG G 63 Offroad PRO in India as a limited-run, more rugged version of its iconic performance SUV. Designed for buyers looking for a more serious off-road character, the Offroad PRO gets AMG-specific off-road hardware and exclusive styling elements that set it apart from the standard G 63.
Design
The G 63 Offroad PRO retains the familiar G-Class silhouette, but gets a more expedition-focused appearance. It features a Professional roof luggage rack with a removable rear ladder, along with exclusive 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke matte-black alloy wheels. The variant also gets AMG-specific bumpers, flared wheel arches and an aggressive front fascia.
Engine and Off-Road Hardware
Power comes from the familiar 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology, producing 585hp and 850Nm of torque. It is paired with AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive, allowing the G 63 Offroad PRO to go from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
The major difference over the standard G 63 is its off-road hardware. The Offroad PRO gets AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, plus exclusive AMG Traction PRO and AMG Active Balance Control modes. These are designed to improve traction, axle articulation and stability over challenging terrain.
Price
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad PRO is priced at ₹3.80 crore (ex-showroom) in India. Mercedes-Benz says the variant will be available in limited numbers, adding to its exclusivity.
