The Rolls-Royce Ghost II has always been the understated one in the range. Novitec clearly thinks there is room for a little more intent. Its Spofec package for the Black Badge version adds performance without disturbing the car’s underlying charm.
The familiar 6.75-litre twin turbo V12 gets a revised engine map. Power climbs to 696bhp and torque rises to 1,001Nm, which is a useful jump over the standard car. The gains trim the 0 to 100kmph time to 4.3 seconds. The top speed stays limited to 250kmph because Rolls-Royce believes there are more important things in life than chasing numbers.
There is also an optional stainless steel exhaust. It gives the Ghost a deeper note, although the butterfly valves allow the car to quieten down when required. It may not be to every owner’s taste, but it does bring some additional character to the V12.
The stance is lower by 35mm and the 22-inch wheels developed with Vossen fill the arches neatly. The redesigned front bumper has larger intakes and the carbon extensions around the sides and rear are subtle enough to blend with the Black Badge theme. A small lip spoiler rounds things off without affecting the car’s clean lines.
Personalisation remains a core part of the appeal. Novitec will adjust colours and materials to suit individual preferences, even though the standard car already offers an extensive range of choices.
Prices remain undisclosed, although a full conversion in India would comfortably breach the crore mark. Then again, anyone considering a tuned Ghost is unlikely to be checking spreadsheet totals.
