Key Details
In the frontal offset test, the Altroz scored 15.55/16, with ‘Good’ protection for the driver’s head, chest and feet. The legs were rated ‘Adequate’. The passenger’s side fared similarly, with only the right tibia marked ‘Adequate’.
The side impact tests were a mixed bag: ‘Good’ scores for the head and pelvis, ‘Adequate’ for the abdomen, and ‘Marginal’ for the chest. Even so, the overall adult protection tally was an impressive 29.65/32.
For child occupant protection, the Altroz pulled off a near-perfect 23.90/24 dynamic score, thanks to strong results for both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummy tests. The CRS installation score was a perfect 12/12, with an overall child safety score of 44.90/49.
On the features front, the Altroz doesn’t skimp. All trims come with six airbags, ABS, ESC, and 3-point seatbelts. Higher-spec versions throw in a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, and tyre-pressure monitoring.
Summary
With its Bharat NCAP result, the Tata Altroz now wears two 5-star badges. One from Global NCAP in 2020 and now from Bharat NCAP in 2025. For Tata, it’s another headline in a safety record that few rivals can match. For buyers, it means a premium hatchback that’s just as serious about crash protection as it is about touchscreen infotainment.
