Tata’s electric push gathers pace with the Curvv.EV SeriesX, a cleaner, simpler lineup that focuses on range, features and a more defined variant split. Prices start at ₹16.99 lakh for the Accomplished X 55 and go up to ₹19.49 lakh for the Empowered X 55 #DARK.
At the heart of the SeriesX is a 55 kWh battery pack paired with a motor producing 167 bhp and 215 Nm. The headline number is a claimed 502 km range, though Tata also quotes a more realistic real-world figure of around 400 km. That should be enough to make intercity runs less of a planning exercise and more of a drive.
The Curvv’s SUV coupe shape remains its biggest talking point. It looks different without trying too hard and now comes with a wider colour palette, including a new Nitro Crimson shade alongside the familiar dark edition.
Variants and what they offer
The Accomplished X 55 is pitched as the sensible pick. You get a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless phone connectivity and a 360-degree camera. Comfort features include ventilated front seats with Tata’s R Comfort setup and a neatly finished cabin. It reads like a well-rounded everyday EV rather than a stripped entry point.
Step up to the Empowered X 55 and things get busier. There is a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a JBL sound system with a subwoofer, a powered driver seat, rear seat recline and added cabin detailing. More notably, it brings Level 2 ADAS with 20 functions, along with features like a powered tailgate, vehicle to load and vehicle to vehicle capability and 18-inch alloys.
What stands out
The SeriesX update is less about reinventing the car and more about tightening the offering. Fewer variants, clearer positioning and a strong focus on usable range make it easier to understand what you are paying for.
The lifetime battery warranty, defined as 15 years for the first owner, adds a layer of reassurance that matters in this segment. It is not flashy, but it is the sort of detail that could influence a buying decision.
The takeaway
The Curvv.ev SeriesX is Tata taking a step back to simplify things. The design still grabs attention, the range looks usable on paper and the feature list covers most expectations. Now it comes down to how consistently it delivers that 400 km real-world promise, because that is what will matter once the novelty wears off.
