VinFast has launched the VF MPV 7 in India at Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom), marking its entry into the electric MPV space. It is offered in a single fully loaded 7-seater variant with one battery option.
The design is clean and contemporary. Up front, there is a full-width LED light bar with a distinctive V-shaped signature, along with a closed grille and a neatly sculpted bumper. The side profile is simple, with chrome window detailing and 19-inch alloy wheels, while the rear gets connected LED tail-lamps and prominent VinFast lettering.
In terms of size, the MPV measures 4740mm in length with a 2840mm wheelbase, which should translate to usable cabin space across all three rows. Boot space is limited at 126 litres with all seats up, but expands to 1240 litres when the third row is folded.
Inside, the layout is minimal. There is no traditional instrument cluster, with all driving information integrated into the central 10.1-inch touchscreen. The cabin gets a choice of all-black or dual-tone black and brown themes, along with leatherette upholstery and a clean dashboard design.
The feature list covers the essentials. You get touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, powered mirrors and a 4-speaker audio system. It is not overloaded, but focuses on usability.
Safety kit includes four airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking camera and ISOFIX mounts.
Powering the VF MPV 7 is a 60.13kWh battery paired with a single front-mounted motor producing around 201 bhp and 280 Nm. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in under 9 seconds and has a claimed range of 517km. Fast charging from 10 to 70 percent takes about 30 minutes.
VinFast is also offering free charging at its dealership network until March 2029, which could help reduce running costs for early buyers.
The VF MPV 7 enters a small but growing segment, competing with electric MPVs and some electric SUVs at a similar price point. What it offers is straightforward. Space, practicality and an electric powertrain, without trying to overcomplicate the formula.
