2024 Ram 1500 REV Electric Truck Unveiled

Ram has now presented the production version of the 2024 1500 REV, a spectacular electric pickup truck idea it first exhibited at CES in January to take against Ford's F-150 Lightning. This truck is essentially an electric version of the ICE truck and shares more than just a passing similarity with its gas-powered sibling. Contrary to the hopes raised by the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV concept, which called for a distinctive design comparable to GM's work on the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, the actual vehicle resembles the normal ICE-powered Ram 1500 and adopts Ford's more unremarkable approach with the F-150 Lightning.

The redesigned front and back ends that mimic the concept's contemporary look are the key deviations from the basic truck form. This comprises custom wheels, grille, and lighting with a futuristic appearance.

There was very little information provided about the actual truck, but from the images, it appears to have a crew cab-body and a short bed, neither of which are large enough to support the concept model's third-row with jump seats, but Ram may eventually offer several combinations.

There are currently few inside pictures, but it seems that the interior is mostly the same as the gas-powered 1500, save for the inclusion of a passenger-side front display that resembles the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and new software for the main infotainment screen. Similar to its rivals, the Ram also has a frunk with access to onboard electricity and weatherproof protection.

Ram has previously stated that the pickup would be constructed on the brand-new STLA Frame platform designed exclusively for body-on-frame EVs and targeted at trucks. If accurate, it would outperform most of its rivals with an all-electric range of more than 500 miles (804 km). The company asserts that 800-volt DC rapid charging at up to 350 kW would enable range extensions of up to 100 miles (160 km) in 10 minutes.Although towing capacities have not yet been made public, Ram has promised to "lead the competition," implying that it will be able to tow more than the 10,000 lbs (4,535 kg) that the Chevrolet Silverado EV and Ford F-150 Lightning can, and perhaps even more than the 14,000 lbs (7.5 kg) that the Tesla Cybertruck claims it can tow (6,350 kg).

According to Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr., "The Ram brand has reinvented the pickup truck sector before and will do it once more with the all-new Ram 1500 REV." "The Ram 1500 REV will be the first in a family of electric options that will complement our current award-winning truck lineup. We believe in providing the correct variety of powertrain alternatives to our consumers. Ram will surpass the competition in the categories that consumers care about the most—range, payload, towing, and charge time—as we embark on an exciting electrification adventure.

Production and sales of the new Ram 1500 REV will begin in late 2024, with more information to be released in the coming months.
