Lexus Launches Off-Road-Inspired NX 350h Overtrail Edition in India

Japanese luxury automaker Lexus has introduced the off-road-focused NX 350h Overtrail edition to the Indian market, priced at Rs 71.17 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant caters to outdoorsy buyers with a range of updates inspired by an adventurous lifestyle.

Positioned Between Existing Trims

Lexus India already offers three variants for the NX 350h SUV: F-Sport, Luxury, and Exquisite. The Overtrail slots in between the Luxury and Exquisite trims.

Rugged Exterior Enhancements

The NX 350h Overtrail boasts an exclusive "Moon Desert" paint scheme complemented by extensive blacked-out elements for a more rugged look. The blacked-out list includes the signature spindle grille, roof rails, door mirrors, door frames, and exterior door handles. Lexus has also added black plastic cladding on the wheel arches and door sills.

All these are covered in gloss black except the matte black coated 18-inch wheels inside 235/60-section tyres. Whereas the normal F-sport, Luxury, or Exquisite variants sport 20 inchers with smaller profiles the brand made this decision deliberately to improve ride quality on uneven roads.

Adaptive Suspension and Increased Ground Clearance

The updates finish or start, depending on how seriously you are considering taking your Lexus offroad, with an adaptive variable suspension similar to the F-Sport. The NX 350h Overtrail also offers increased ground clearance, although the exact measurements haven't been revealed yet.

Earth-Toned Interior

Inside, the NX 350h Overtrail Edition features synthetic leather upholstery with brown accents and wood inserts on the door panels, drawing inspiration from nature. Lexus describes the interior as a "Monolith palette complemented by exclusive Geo Layer door trim inspired by nature, shaping a luxurious outdoor experience that touches all five senses."

Hybrid Powertrain

The NX 350h Overtrail retains the existing powertrain – a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a fourth-generation hybrid system. This combination delivers a combined output of 243 horsepower. A CVT gearbox distributes power to all four wheels. Notably, the NX 350h Overtrail features two electric motors, one each on the front and rear axles, allowing for limited electric-only driving by the rear motor for a few miles.
