Nissan Unveils 2025 Kicks in USA, India Launch Possible?

Nissan has revealed the much-awaited 2025 Kicks at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, USA. This was during the opening round of the 224 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Nissan Kicks is a famous Japanese automaker’s offering worldwide. As part of being the official partner of the 2024 March Madness Basketball tournament, they have shown the users an interactive experience of the Kicks. It will also find a spot in the New York International Auto Show between March 27th and April 7th, 2024.

Bolder Look

In its latest form, onlookers will find it looking more sporty and confident in its stance. It has a dual-tone colour scheme with a great body and red top. You will find fresh LED DRLs at the front, a new headlamp cluster, a wider front grille, updated bumpers and new alloy wheels. The rear appears broader due to extended wheel arches and fenders, a revamped tailgate, rear bumper, and updated smoked tail lights. The SUV now stands tall with a 213 mm ground clearance.

New Interior

When you enter Kicks, you will see an SUV that has been wholly revamped. The changes start with a new dashboard with carbon fibre-finished trim and continue with a new flat-bottom steering wheel, all-black interior, and red stitching. It also feels more modern with the two 12.3-inch screens that work as a digital instrument cluster and infotainment. It gets a 10-speaker Bose sound system, a Panoramic sunroof, wireless charging ADAS, cruise control, and a 360-degree camera in its feature arsenal.

Engine Talk

Under the hood is a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine that can deliver 141 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. This engine is coupled with an Xtronic transmission. What brought a smile to my face was the All-wheel drive system, which gives it the proper SUV feel. It offers its power in three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

India Launch

India had its version of the Kicks until April 2023, when it was discontinued due to the lack of sales. However, Nissan might see the merit in bringing back the Kicks in the present avatar. The company relies on a single model, the Magnite, at the current time. While we don't have any information on Nissan’s plans to introduce Kicks in India, we know it is planning to launch 2 SUVs along with its partner Renault. Read more about them here.
