Ducati has delivered the super exclusive 2023 Superbike world championship-winning Ducati Panigale V4 R in Mumbai, which was ridden by none other than the 2023 champion Álvaro Bautista in the 2023 Superbike World championship. Here is everything you need to know about it
Design and Livery
The 2023 Superbike world Championship-winning Ducati Panigale V4 R stands out with a striking Giallo Yellow livery that pays homage to Ducati’s iconic 1970s racing spirit, instantly linking modern dominance with historic glory. The design isn’t just about looks — its bodywork is extensively made from carbon fibre, helping reduce weight while enhancing overall performance. Adding to its aggressive race-bred appearance are the carbon fibre winglets, seamlessly integrated into the front, side fairings, and tail section, improving aerodynamic efficiency and high-speed stability. Completing the lightweight, track-focused package are forged aluminium wheels, which not only sharpen the bike’s visual appeal but also contribute to quicker turn-in and better handling, reinforcing the Panigale V4 R’s status as a championship-winning superbike.
Engine and specs
The 2023 championship-winning Ducati Panigale V4 R features a 998cc V4 Desmosedici Stradale R engine with Desmodromic timing, which helps this mill to rev up to a staggering 16500rpm. This mill can produce up to 235bhp and boasts a top speed of 315kmph. The race spec Ducati Panigale V4 R gets Öhlins upside-down suspension at the front and Öhlins monoshock suspension at the rear. The race spec Ducati Panigale V4 R also packs in a bunch of electronic rider aids, which help the rider during the race. It gets launch control, pit lane assist and traction control.
But what makes it special?
Apart from all the world-class engine specs and rider aids, what makes the race-winning Ducati Panigale V4 R truly special is the sheer level of dominance it displayed on track. In the 2023 WorldSBK season, the Panigale V4 R powered Ducati to an incredible 27 race wins, the most victories by a team in a single season, underlining its unmatched performance. The bike also delivered a remarkable 11-race winning streak and clocked 23 fastest laps, both of which stand as season records. Adding to this historic achievement, Álvaro Bautista became the first Ducati rider since Carl Fogarty in 1999 to successfully defend a WorldSBK title, cementing the Panigale V4 R’s status as one of the most successful and dominant superbikes in championship history.
